The Honourable Bob Runciman
Senate of Canada
Ottawa, Ontario
K1A 0A4
Dear Senator Runciman,
I have experienced personally the terrible tragedy of having a family
member killed by a firearm. The grief is inexplicable. Yet what I find
even more incomprehensible is that some so-called women’s groups
use these personal tragedies as an excuse to make the possession of all
firearms illegal. No amount of licencing would have prevented this death.
I ask that as you consider Bill C-19, An Act to amend the Criminal Code
and the Firearms Act, that you ensure that the Government does not continue
to make the mere possession of a firearm a criminal act.
My family and I for years supported the conservative principles that
helped form the Conservative Party of Canada. We worked hard to elect
a Conservative majority Government to repeal all of the Firearms Act.
Please honour the Conservative Policy and respect my right to own my
firearms.
Sincerely yours,
Earlene Hart
