Eating the Elephant There is a very politically-incorrect story about getting a mule to listen by first hitting it over the head with a 2X4.* I think that story applies to those who advise "eating the Elephant one bite at a time". I think it is time for everyone to realize that before
we can "eat" the Elephant, Mr. Harper & the Conservatives now have that stable Majority they requested we help give them. Essentially, Mr. Harper & the Conservatives can now
do whatever they please; Mr. Harper & the Conservatives could repeal the Firearms Act. Yet Joe Gingrich has now twice provided hard evidence that Mr. Harper and the Conservatives have no intention of repealing licencing as Mr. Harper and Mr. Breitkreuz promised us that they would do. Mr. Harper & the Conservatives now talk only of "ending the long-gun registry". Worse - much, much worse - Mr. Harper & the Conservatives now publicly state that they support "the current licensing scheme." Just which "current licensing scheme" would that be? I believe that would be former Liberal Minister of Justice Allan Rock's licensing scheme. When Mr. Harper & the Conservatives support a core
Liberal policy of Jean Chrétien - We need to get this Elephant's attention. If an unjust law has ever begged for peaceful, non-violent
civil non-compliance, Ladies and Gentleman, I respectfully suggest it is time for you to burn your firearms licences. Sincerely, Edward B. Hudson DVM, MS Canadian Unlicensed Firearms Owners Association
